2024: How is AI changing the way we interact online

Are you used to it, to speak with chatbots instead of real persons from a customer service? Is this the end? Are we human really replaceable?

AI and our online presence

In our digital age, Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become a transformative force in  every aspect of our lives.

From chatbots that provide customer service to algorithms that personalize our social media feeds, AI is reshaping our online experiences in ways that we never dared to dream off few years ago. We all can agree with this statement.

But is this really a form of communication of advanced level?

AI-driven chatbots and virtual assistants, like Microsoft Copilot, are becoming increasingly sophisticated, seemingly capable of understanding and responding to human language with remarkable accuracy.

This not only makes information more accessible but also streamlines interactions, saving us time and improving user’s satisfaction.

Does this mean, that we are replaceable?

Yes, certainly, most of our actions are now repleacable. But not 100%. You (who are using AI) must have a profond knowledge of said topic, because AI can and does mistakes and you have to be able to do the background check for misinformations. AI works with the internet and as we all knows, the internet is full with false informations.

And from that, we wasily jump to our next problem with AI.

Personalization

Most of us asked already ourself: am I watched? Is my phone, my TV, our any if my devices, spying on me?

The personalised experience that we receive online is sometimes so accurate that it’s already scary.

AI algorithms analyze enormous amounts of data to tailor content to individual preferences, without our knowledge and consent, altering the way we discover content online. Do not let yourself feel safe that you agreed or not to that ‘cockies’.

Just think on Netflix, that is recommending movies or facebook with group/pages recommendations or news apps that is curating articles, it’s fact, that AI ensures that our online experience is uniquely ours, whether we like it or not.

Is it a good thing or a bad thing?

Let’s discusse this from the Social Media Evolution perspective.

Social media platforms leverage AI to severly moderate content, filter all those annoying spams, and manage the massive influx of data generated by other users. AI helps in identifying and promoting content that is likely to be most engaging, keeping users connected and informed with relevant informations.

And this aspect is certainly a useful thing.

But where will this end?

The Future of Online Interaction

As AI technology continues to evolve, we can expect even more personalized and immersive online experiences. Virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR), powered by AI, will offer new ways to interact, blurring the lines between the physical and digital worlds.

In conclusion, AI is not just changing the way we interact online; it’s revolutionizing it. By automating tasks, providing personalized experiences, and creating new forms of communication, AI is at the forefront of the digital transformation, making our online interactions more engaging, efficient, and meaningful.
